Yoga Ball Bowl
This concept came to me as I was contemplating how to create a large rounded concave mold. I looked around my studio and saw a large yoga ball and the light bulb sparkled! I now have a cast yoga ball form with rings and all (and a plaster encrusted yoga ball). But this form was created before that solution. This was the first form I made using the yoga ball (before I learned to cast it). I laid a large slab over the plastic ball and things when sideways more than once. First, it rotated with the weight of the clay until I managed to balance it out, and then it started to both stick to the ball and tear apart. I salvaged a large piece and continued to have difficulty maintaining the form. After letting it firm up a bit, I was able to salvage the best part of it to create this irregular bowl.
